Welcome to The Positive Approach Dog Training and Behaviour, based in Brinkworth Wiltshire. I use the most up to date and scientifically-proven positive techniques so that you and your dog can thrive together.
My aim is to help you develop a mutually beneficial relationship between you and your dog, based on great communication and understanding.
I offer a wide range of services to to meet your needs which include:
Puppy Classes, Rescue Dog 1-1's, Behaviour Consultations, Training Classes, Scentwork Courses, Canine Hoopers and IMDT Partnership Grades (similar to KC good citizen).
If you are unsure which service you need, please get in touch. Sometimes we are embarrassed by our dog’s behaviour, or feel that it is our fault but I am here to help you so don't hesitate to reach out.
As guidance, if you would like to teach your dog something (such as sit or stay), improve some aspects of behaviour (such as recall or walking on the lead), or give your puppy a good start in life in order to be a well-mannered dog that will easily cope in a human world: this is training.
If your dog is struggling to cope and is showing signs of stress, reactivity, resource guarding or separation anxiety: this is behaviour.
My Services
Behaviour Consultations
Receive personalized coaching 1-1. Personal consultations are ideal if you are encountering a behavioural issue, or if you feel your dog would not cope well in a class environment.
We can offer help with existing behaviours or with rescue dogs that need help settling in to their new home.
Our puppy programmes and scent detection workshops are also available as 1-1 sessions.
UK Sniffer Dogs
We hold regular UK Sniffer Dog scent detection and tracking workshops, classes and 1-1's and these are perfect for any breed of dog at any age.
Scentwork provides a fantastic, low impact physical and mental workout for your dog.
It is calming, gives focus, improves your ability as a trainer and provides your dog with the chance to feel successful, by doing the very thing that comes most naturally to them.
Training Classes
We hold regular group classes and workshops for puppies and adolescent dogs in general obedience training, scent detection and canine hoopers.
You don’t have to want perfect obedience or clever tricks to enjoy one of our classes.
All training is good for dogs, providing mental and physical variety. Your dog needs to feel successful to thrive, our classes achieve this by allowing the dog to feel that they have choices, are motivated feel confident and have fun.
Rescue Dog Training
If you have brought a rescue dog into your home, first of all thank you. You have done a wonderful thing by giving one of these precious lives another chance.
Rescue dogs often need a specific and particularly sympathetic approach to training as we often don’t know the full history of the dog. It is possible that your new family member already has a few issues or is struggling and I would love to help.

I love training dogs because I love animals and want them to lead their best lives. We make so many decisions on their behalf, I would like to help people give their dogs more choices and to build confidence in them through a greater understanding. I want to help people give their dogs more choices to empower them, enable them and understand them. Each dog is a unique individual and needs a unique approach.
I want people to enjoy a life with these beautiful creatures. When there is a true bond between a human and an animal it is magical and a privilege
I have spent my life working in a professional capacity with both horses and dogs.
I am passionate about animals and committed to continued learning and development to ensure that at all times you and your dogs are coached using the most up to date, proven and effective positive training techniques.
I hold certificates and diplomas from levels 3-5 in training and behaviour.
