Training

Workshops and Classes

You don’t have to want perfect obedience or clever tricks to enjoy one of our classes.

All training is good for dogs, providing mental and physical variety, and building a string of successes. Your dog needs to feel successful to thrive, our classes achieve this by allowing the dog to feel that they have choices, are motivated feel confident and have fun.

All classes are held outdoors and all class programmes are available as 1-1’s.

Adolescent Classes

It is so important for you to help your dog through this complicated developmental stage.

What you will learn:
  • How to proof previous training that may have gone out the window!

  • Learn new things to build mental agility and calmness

  • How to teach and reinforce impulse control

  • How to understand and deal with secondary fear issues that your dog may be experiencing

  • How to get their focus back on you, through improving bonds and communication

  • How to manage social interactions

  • Introduction to scentwork, freework and other enrichment activities suited to your dog

Cost: £120.00 for 6 sessions. 

Workshops

I hold regular workshops on loose lead walking and recall. There are many ways to teach and proof these essential behaviours.

 

During a workshop you will learn a variety of methods (all positive) allowing you to adapt your training if you encounter hiccups, and to identify the method that best work for your dog.

Cost: £35 for a 2 hour session

Hoopers

The perfect activity based training for your dog, providing a fun, low impact and safe learning experience for dogs of all sizes, ages and breeds.

 

Hoopers is a really fun way to proof and expand on previous training, provide physical and mental exercise and build trust between dog and handler.

Cost: £100 for 6 sessions.

IMDT Partnership Grades 1-5

You will be taken through each grade content through a series of 6 classes for each grade.

Working through the grades gives you and your dog a structured learning process with clear goals and the grades take you from novice grade 1 through to advanced at grade 5, with no obligation to complete all grades.

 

For each each grade you successfully complete you will receive a certificate.

What you will learn:

Grade 1

  • Loose lead walking

  • Sit with duration and distance

  • Chin rest

 

Grade 2

  • Recall

  • Down with duration and distance

  • Loose lead walking with left and right turn, different pace.

  • Sit with added distractions

 

Grade 3

  • Search

  • Emergency stop

  • Bow, twist, spin

 

Grade 4

  • Boomerangs

  • Added criteria for loose lead walking

  • Added criteria for search

 

Grade 5

  • General knowledge quiz for handler

  • Boomerangs

  • Further raising of criteria for sit, search and loose lead walking.

Cost: £100 for 6 sessions.
